Childs 1955 Lagopus lagopus July 5 Athasuk, Meade River, Alaska Fowl sawing dropping on the tundra & in the willows along the stream into town. Chuck Perrin spotted a 9 on the night of 7/4/55. I got within 8 inches before she flushed & put on a beautiful, broken wing display. July 6 Took pictures of the above July 7 Chicks hatched. Puttin John reported another nest with chicks. Cosandra found nest with 8 eggs July 15 Warmwright, Alaska Flushed several 9's but failed to find nests. July 18 " a covey of 2 adult 9's & 1 adult with 6 chicks that could fly.
