Aquila chrysaetos
22 June Patmezea River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
One was seen circling high to the west of
Loon Marsh. It was being chased by Two
long-tail jaegers who harried and dove
at it like anybirds, calling loudly
all the time. The eagle didn't seem
to care about them at all. It finally
glided SE toward the head of the
river.

20nm SE Cape Sabine
There were at least three different times that
we saw eagles during the trip down river,
all of them above the 12 mile camp.
31 July Patmezea River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
One came from the East near the lagoon
and flew up river to the SE of us. It
was announced and chased by jaeger
on the far hill. It had comparative
freedom near the river; then
another pair of L.T. jaegers took
after it and chased it as far as we
could see. It is an immature bird
with white tail and black band.
May of the primaries were missing.
