Man has located any nests in his hikes. 4 nests in ponds across river. 12 July Patnemea River, 7mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska A pair on pond upstream. 17 July Wannaght, Alaska Pair heard calling on marsh. 22 July Meade River Coal Mine, Alaska Heard calling. 31 July Patnemea River, Cape Sabine, Alaska Nest on plot 1 successful and both young there. Bill has found several others in very small ponds. 7 Aug 2 down young with adults seen on river. Probably from pond lack of calm where nest was located. Pond no larger than 40 x 20'.
