July 28 Point Barrow, Alaska 1800 cont [illegible] Eggs and young covered with down lining. 7/28 Nest deserted; 1 young dead; 1 young still in egg, dead. 3 eggs cold, showing no development. Aug 6 East Ammalik, 110 mi. SSE Barrow, Alaska A group of 8 were seen on the lake and only by very close approach and gun-fire were we able to get one of them to fly a short distance. I imagine that they were in molt. Aug 20 Point Barrow, Alaska Small numbers of the species have been regular in occurrence on Elson Lagoon.
