Childs 1958 Somateria spectabilis 22 May Barrow, Alaska We found one dead of starvation on the tundra near the Voth area. Others have been found and reported by the Eskimos near the Drara. 23 May Several flocks reported flying along shore. Saw one flock of 300 miles on the way to the Village. 26 May Wainwright, Alaska Eskimos shot 51 at me while Camp 10 miles offshore. We saw many flocks, few having more than 100 individuals. 1792 Patuxent River Cape Sabine, Alaska A flock of about 10 were asleep on the sand bar at the mouth of the river. 24 May Flock of 20+ offshore
