Anas acuta Childs 1958 30 may Pitmegea River, Cape Sabine Alaska A pair seen several times and appear to be nesting in study area. 31 may 3 males seen pursuing one female. 1 june Flushed a 9 from nest w/eggs near stream (200' from water). Single male seen earlier, Saw 2 miles pursuing 9 very bright over river collie and males appear to try and dominate 9 by causing her to change direction of flight. 2 june Several seen on the marsh. 4 june These ducks are definitely more abundant this year. 29 june A flock of 7 D seen on West Marsh 11 june Flushed 2D + 9 along T5. 24 june 8 feeding with green-winged teal on layen. 8 July Pitmegea River, 16mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska A 9 very anxious was seen on the two ponds. 13 july 9 with 7 ducklings seen on pond up the Northfork. 16 july a newly grown young was keyed late by the Rough-leg Hawk at the nest. 18 july Pitmegea River, 7mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska Shot a fully molty 9 and a Red-throated Loon! with one shot on a small pond 9 Aug Pitmegea River, Cape Sabine Alaska Tentants & a cubent seen throughout.
