460'±elev. 38 mi S of Nuevo Laredo, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Cought 2♂s and 2♀ (no embryos) in rat traps set near
their nests just around the bases of prickly pear cacti's.
Habitat - flat country, several species of cacti and brush.
Nearly 2 inches of rain this morning.
April 4
550' ft. 31 mi ENE (Bravo) Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Set
10 rat traps baited with dried fruit in thick prickly
pear cactus habitat. Soil sandy, topography - very low
hills. Set traps in late afternoon - about 2 hrs. after
dark I looked at 8 of the traps and found 4 rats - 3♀,
1♂.
April 6
Elevation about 100 ft., 24 mi ESE Reynosa, Tamaulipas,
Mexico. Took 3 (1♂, 2♀) N. micropus in traps.
April 11
Chaco Escondido, 20± mi S Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
Took one small ♀ in habitat of fairly open mesquite
and other brush and some cacti, mostly prickly pear.
On April 12 I took 3♀ and 2♂ along a brush fence next
to a ploughed field.
