Hog-nosed Skunk
(Conepatus sp.)
March 19. 5800' ± ½ mi N Emory Pk, Chisos Mts., Brewster
Co., Texas. Just after dark, 3/7 moon;⁵ᴮ Benson, M.
Delgadillo and I were coming down a mountain trail,
when Benson, in the lead, saw a skunk a few feet
ahead of us on the trail. We threw rocks and in a
few minutes, after a chase of 50 yds. or so, Benson
killed the animal.
