E.V. Miller 1940 35 General Account. Cochilla. We had tire trouble in the afternoon and evening and did not set out traps. May 31 We drove on to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon to have the car repaired. June 1 We left Mexico through Saredo at about 11 in the morning and drove NW through Texas to a location 6.7 mi. W Sanderson, Terrell Co., Texas. In the late evening I set out 50 M. specials and 47 live traps for mice. June 2 Took 1 Perognathus merriami in a live trap. Soil at this place rocky and hard. Sparse small brush of several species present. In the afternoon we drove on to a location 1 mi. # N Fort Davis, Jeff Davis Co., Texas. This was at the mouth of Limpia Canyon, a small affair about 1/4 mile wide and 30' or 400 ft. high, with steep sides and a low rock cliff [illegible] at the top of its sides. The sides were strewn with boulders up to 6 ft. or more in height. I set 70 M. specials and 47 live traps for mice along this cliff. In addition I set 10 traps for gophers in a sickly alfalfa field in the floor of the canyon. June 3 Took nothing in my mouse traps. Took 2 ? Cratogeomys sp. in my gopher traps. In the afternoon we drove into New Mexico, to 3 mi. NW Carlsbad, Eddy Co. In the late afternoon I set out 67 M. specials for mice
