E.V. Miller 1940 33 General Account to the birds seen yesterday I saw Desert Sparrow, Poorwill, and Nighthawks, Plumbeous Cratcatcher (found a nest of this with 3 eggs), and Shrikes. In the afternoon I collected another Creimidophorus replineatus, 2 of a different species of '' a Bewick Wren, Desert Sparrow, and a Plumbeous Cratcatcher. In the evening I set 2 double sets for gophers, 10 traps for rats and 50 for mice. May 27 Took in my traps 2 ♂ Geonys sp., 4 ♀, 1♂ Dipodomys merianus, 1♀, 3♂ Dipodomys ordii and 1♂ Perognathus penicillatus. Delgadillo took in his traps 2♂ Peromyscus sp., 3♂ Perognathus penicillatus, 1♀ Nestoma albiqua, 1♂, 1♀ Dipodomys spectabilis, 2 ♂, 1♀ Geonys sp. and 1♂, 1♀ Pipilo fuscus. In the afternoon I collected the eggs, 3 in each set, fresh, of a Brown Towhee and a Plumbeous Cratcatcher. (?) Also a Traild Flycatcher, a Bewick Wren, a Red- shafted Flicker, and a Silvilagus sp. Saw in addition Raven, Mourning Dove, and Boat-tailed Grackles. In the afternoon, our car repaired, we drove on through to Ventura and 5 miles north we came to a small ranch called San Juan Departamento, in Coachilla. Then In the after- noon I set out 50 traps for mice and 5 for gophers. Delgadillo set out 50 for mice, 10 for gophers, and 10 for rats. May 28, I took in my traps 2♂ Geonys sp., 1♂
