toward the city of San Luis Potosi. We
stopped at 6 mi.SE Punta, Jalisco, ?set out
75 m. Specials, some among thin brush and
cactus on the floor of a small valley and
some along the base of large rocks near the
top of a low ridge. Dry grass, a little
brush and cactus were also here.

cought a Thomomys umbrinus - had 4 traps
set for gophers. Last night I collected 7 of
a small species of Rana. These were living
by a few pools of water in the gulch nearby,
most of which was dry. In the afternoon
we drove to San Luis Potosi, San Luis, Potosi,

1 & Peroquathus velsonii, 1 & Dipodomys ordii, and

light gray-brown soil, mostly fields of Maguey plants,
with a few 'pepei' trees, cacti, and species of brush
around them. Mockingbirds, Cactus Wrens,
Desert Sparrows, Rovers and Shrikes were birds I
saw near camp. Also Turkey Buzzard. In the
afternoon we drove over a rough dirt and rock
road to a location 1 mi. W Hacienda la Parada,
