General Account.
April 15 In my traps I took 4♀, 3♂ Peromyscus boylii, one
? small Nestoma-like mammal. ? in a rat trap I caught
a Bassariscus astutus by the tail. I caught a skink in
leaves on the ground while picking up traps. Birds of the
region which I saw were: Black-crested Titmouse, Band-
tailed Pigeon, Chipping Sparrow, Whip-Poor-Will (heard),
Bewick Wren, Acorn-Scoring Woodpecker, Jays-
Aphelocoma sp?, Cedar Warbling, and Grail (sp?)
We drove back to Monterrey to have the car repaired.
April 17 Spent all day yesterday getting car fixed. After-
wards we drove S of Monterrey on the Pan-American
Highway to Kilometer 755. Here on the night of the
16th we camped by a small irrigation ditch. I set
out 50 m.specials, 10 no1 Schuyler and 50 live traps
(for mice). The first 60 were set along the edge of a
corn field bordered by brush. In these I took 2♀;
1♂ Lionops sp., 1♀ Sigmodon sp., 1♂ Baiomys sp.,
2♂, 1♀ Perothathus merriami, 1♀Perothatus hispidus,
and 1♂, 3♀ Peromyscus leucopus. From here we

drove S past Victoria. Our position last night was
Km 755, Cruzy Cruz,
29 mi. N Victoria, Tamaulipas. We stopped in a
tropical habitat. ?n late afternoon I set out
50 m.specials and 10 no1 Schuylers. I shot a Motmot
and saw numerous Parrots, Pigeons, and Doves.
The traps were set along a dry, small, rocky, stream
bed with fairly dense forest with medium dense
