June 19, This a.m. the mice were down in the burrow dug yesterday afternoon. They apparently had come out for seeds during the night. They 9.00am have begun construction of a new burrow. They both dig on the same burrow. They seem to alternate going ahead. When both have gone down out of sight it is always the first one that with reappear first. Thus I could guess correctly which one I would see emerge next. Both yesterday and today when I dug up their burrow to find them, I found them both in the same region, that is together, rather than in separate parts of the system.
