O. Memmler 1943 Perognathus californicus June 8, Mus. Vert. Zool., Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. closed. They are now sleeping in the end of the box near the radiator. One is lying stretched out on his side and back. They are often observed sleeping on their backs. Pat (one missing a claw) was first measured, and its hind foot is 19 mm. and its tail is 55mm. Mike has one eye which just opened about 11 o'clock. I fed them quite a lot of milk between 10:30 & 11:00 am, and they eat more seed. Now they are snuggled against a jar of hot water sleeping. P.M. Mike's other eye opened this afternoon. They were both weighed and were: mike — 6.5 g , Pat — 6.6 g . They do a lot of washing of parts and biting and scratching. Sometimes they even bite each other on the ear or toe. June 9, Last night at 6 o'clock feeding they did not take much milk. This time later at about 7:30 the took more milk. They were busy eating seeds a great deal of the time between 6 and 10 P.M. This morning at 8 they again were busy eating seeds, but did not take more than 2 or 3 drops of milk. I tried them again about 9 o'clock and they took a little more. I am mixing 1 teaspoon of Klim with 1/4 cup of water + adding
