July 29-Aug 1 San Bernardino Nets.
Audubon Warbler abundant walking
& juncs throught up to Dollar Lake.
Common in the mixed flocks around
Dry Lake. Some seemed still to be in fixed territories.
W. Tanager Common up to 8000 ft
along SFh. Seen at Dry Lake also.
Blk Headed Grosbeaks juncs or ?'s at
Dry Lake July 30.
Pine Siskin - conspicuous by its absence!
Carpodacus cassinii found in same
places daily. Abundant in
transition zone along SFh. Not
seen much in lodgepole & limber
pines. One ad ♂ watched quietly
sitting then hopping around on grd.
Aug 1 under young white firs.
Carpodacus purpureus. Only at lower
more transition localities - Jumbo Lake.
One seen grd as above but less
numerous. "Pit" not seems sharper
& higher than those at Berkeley.
Lopia curvicrista Dry Lake Aug 1. One
seen & heard.
Junco- abundant some must still
be nesting as judged by alarm
notes of ad. pairs seen at same
place going & coming (July 29, Aug 1).
