Marshall, 1946 July 29-Aug 1 San Bernardino Mts., Calif. Ruby-crowned Knight - not a trace! "Golden crowned" 2 seen in White Fir 5th about 7800 ft July 29. House Wren - 2 or so at Dry Lake Wren-tit 3 seen & head singing 2 seemed to belong to a pair in manzanita chaparral 900ft Dry Lake July 30. V. Bluebird: Dry Lake & common below in Yellow Pines as Horse Meadows. Solitaire Family of jays - about 3 seen inside lodgepole grove at Dollar T. July 31. One in White Fir 5th 7800 ft Aug 1. Hermits Thrush. 2 only seen - these on &nd. miss One in patch willows other on gnd among Manzanitas both near Jerry Lake in Yellow Pine belt. Post breeding downward moment? Lutecent Warbler - Common in mipled flats swithatchs chickadees, juncos etc around dry lake and head S.Fk. Paleolated Warbler Feeding young in willows head 5th in canyon leading to Dry T. Young have different call from ad - more like Lutecent W.
