Marshall, 1946 July 29-Aug 1 San Bernardino Mts., Caly. Violet Green Swallow Abundant from Dry Lake to Jerbs Lake & along Santa Ana R. S Fk. Cyanwitta: S Fk, Dry Lake, Dolla t., etc. albount in Transition & Boreal but most common " along S Fk Santa Ana where large groups of noisy aggressive birds seen - up to 35 individuals per group. Threefaga Widely scattered Jerbs Lake to Dolla. Lake. More seemed to be at the lower elevations in Yellow Pine. Chickadee Abundant throug. Red-treated Nuthatch heard at Dry Lake (Lodgepole Pines) & family group seen at S. Fk. in little patch willows ! about 7500 ft.) 5 or 6 birds very nory & chasing each other. White - treated Nuthatch Common through out up to Dry Lake 9000 ft. Creper Up to Dry Lake area Not common. Ogging Nuthatch Abundant throught in Lodgepole, Yellow & Jeffrey Pines. Apparently a mass upward movement (post-breeding) into boreal.
