Marshall, 1947 Melospiza Collections Sept-Oct '47 Oct 12 Swinson Bay shore, north Sulphur Springs Creek, Solano Co., Calif. (See Carquinez Quadrangle) 3791-3796 Taken here in great expanse of excluded S. campestris & Typha with frequent patches of taller S. acutus where birds usually concentrated. Not numerous. Saw only about 8 birds. Many yellowthroats, Wrens, furled 1 Long-eared owl from Barchais on a dyke. This is same spot where Stone & I coll. 6 birds in Nov 41. There are patches of very tall loose Salicornia plants growing among S. campestris & Typha. Unusual formation.
