Marshall, 1947 Melospiza Collectors Oct Sept '47 salt marsh, Pinole Contra Costa Co., Calif. San Pablo Bay profile of marsh: grindelia 3-4' salt cornia Spartina in flower 4' high Ristelli, salicornia chenopodin olmopodium, dock high tide-> low tide mud flats Refugio Landing 3729-3732 San Pablo Bay Wilson Pt. Pinole (From Mare Island quadrangle) 40 Was on the marsh here before daylight & got some sparrows before they had fed. Stom. empty. No ticks. One was "flucteling" from a stake. I shot it & found ad. mosquitoes in its mouth, another in stom. Bds. numerous there. I saw or heard about 10 in little area shown. Watched them foraging on mud flats getting several yards away from cover of Spartina. salt marsh San Pablo Contra Costa Co.
