At least 8 pr in 400 yds x 80 yds are
probably 10 - 8 ten in line down
middle. Some singing - regular
song perches - stumps tallest grindedia,
fence post taller rushes. 1 pr ad.
flushed from Salix, 12' away from
grindedia. 1 jur flushed from middle
of large Salix area 25 yds from
grindedia. 1 unknown age pair Salix
also. 1 pair hopped down into Salix
from grindedia & disappeared under
Salix. Others getting into Salix
from grindedia. Never sing from
Salix, never perch in it, fly
always to nearest line of grindedia,
the clumps of Artemisia vulgaris the
parted of S. obwegi & Carex strais on the
rushes at edge of strait. When chased
toward pure Salix, fly out around
a turn back to grindedia. No
adults flushed from 400 yds of pure
Salix (x 40 yds) in several trips.
:: seem to forage in it some because as
the predominant veg. but mainly remain
in grindedia along troughs or rushes at
edge strait.
