Marshall, 1947 Melospiza 66. (1 burning out) May 12 Alviso Santa Clara Co. Calif. alviso slough (.5m south from turn) was gap of 1100 yds where slough goes then pastern, and has only 3-8 ft. saliniine on overhanging banks - is tidal bar, however. lacks grundlee. See quadrangle for vegetation willow at 900yds, S. Row thicklt 950. On south side bridge over hwy 9, is dense s. acutus with at least 1 ss & Restrictions of willows from low s makes some small detached populations. Grudaluge River - for seg see WD map. SS found everywhere along it - saliniine -> Cominus, Botachuis, -> willows. Good Contina population. Willows cut down in one area but ss in orchard & Comin. alviso -> Coyote Creek See quadrangle. No ss in the Typha marsh of an acre or so (with many ducks, dorithus, par black-necked stilte) Note 2 patches of willows - if any SS then would be very small detached populations. But detached very far from [illegible] Creek, however.
