Marshall, 1946 Melospiza melodia April 7 Elkhorn Slough Trip. In afternoon drove S of San Francisco on Bayshore Highway. Guadalupe Valley has salicornia marsh & looks like northernmost location for possible pusilla. I saw ss here 1940 but didn't collect any. A sparsely vegetated stream flows into upper end - might be a few pairs santacruces along it - but hills there dry & barren x probably few ss approach the bay marshes in region of South San Francisco. S. San Francisco marsh greatly restricted now. Looked like a couple of places where willows or cattail marsh approached salicornia marsh north of Palo Alto. Studied Elkhorn Slough area from 4-6 - windy but clear. Noted cattail marsh 1 mi S Watsonville junction which probably has many santacruces: Elkhorn slough marshes greatly drained altered or used for salt works. Moro Cojo Slough seems entirely taken over
