No other otu found tonight the much seemingly good Jeffrey Pine co. covered. July 1 (see Song Sparrow acct.) Echo Lake, Eldorado Co., 7500 ft., Calif. - few trips - beautiful red fir, Sierra juniper, seen also Jeffy Pine, but Hemlock, Lodgepole Pine. July 2 Virginia Lakes Mon.? Co., Calif. 9200 ft drove from lining up here to look for very frutify & conies - found now There is no yellow Jeffrey Pine zone here at all. Lyle Miller says maybe all logged off. We go from Artemesia straight into Pirus catata & Palbrcalis then Hemlock then timberline. Hernial thushy at timberline wherever little miniature forests no matter how steg of 20 ft for pines & hemlocks. Rock Wrens among rocks, Owl Warbles in Willows.
