about a foot in diameter. The owls
in their hole in this great dead limb
against a moonlight sky made quite
quite an impressive, and a somewhat
eerie picture.

This afternoon we also set out a line
of gopher traps - and shot a large series
of rabbits. We didn't put out any
mouse traps, and we didn't need to! We
have nearly enough specimens to last us
two days.
