Kaye - 1933. NW part Kelsoe Valley, 4500 ft. Nov. 23, 1933. got instead a rock wren and an ammo. Also I have set four rat traps at good pack rat nests up here in the canyon, but so far they haven't been touched. I expect that the rats are fugeipes. I saw a screech owl to- night fly by camp. - Nov. 24, 1933. This is a big morning for the ex- pedition. Ray caught a spotted shrew and shot a brush rabbit. My trap line was productive very little this morning: 2 mohavensis the truei in the joshua, one dipo in the joshua, one ammo in the joshua, two neotana lepida in the joshua, one ? which had been half eaten - probably by a carnivore. I shot three more ammo's, and one very common kinglet. Bird life seems scarce in the valley. 409 Dipodomys mohavensis. wt: 60 280-168-43-14 410 Dipodomys mohavensis wt: 68 280-160-43-15 411 Dipodomys mohavensis wt: 64 293-171-44-14 412 Dipodomys mohavensis wt: 59 282-168-43-15 413 Neotoma l. lepida? wt: 259 290-130-34-29
