Kaye - 1933. Rankin Ranch - 3300 ft., Walker Basin. - Nov. 15, 1933. anything. In my hillside traps up the east canyon I caught three trueis; in my flats, traps at the mouth of the cany, I caught 4 sonorisiensis. In my tule traps here at camp I caught one microtus and one smorisensis. Mrs. Rankin told me today that there were both black and brown bears here, but that the black never got into the basin. Ray hunted the south side of the basin today finding a canyon rich in material. He got 2 calif. wood- pecker - our first off the mountain.
