Yesterday I took up all my traps except those set out in the sand area for perognathus. I caught one dips only. I set out about 50 more traps today all the way across the basin, up to the mouth of Thompson canyon, including any possible association. If I don't get some perognathus inside of the next three nights I'll be convinced that there are none in the basin. I walked down the other way with Ray last night, and saw that several of the fields down there are literally "perforated" with moles. All the moisture in the basin is down his way. I shot two junco from a blue oak in Thompson canyon this morning, and a horned lark near camp. I shot a pipit down in the marsh
