We set up camp last night
on Mrs. Rankin's property, at the south
end of the big willow patch which
occupies the west center part of the
basin.
I ran a trap line of 18 mouse
traps through the willows, setting
my traps at the foot of trees, out in
the open and all other associations
available within the willows. I caught
two peromyscus sonoriensis at the foot
of trees, and one dipodomys agilis at
the foot of trees. I set out two gopher
sets but didn't catch anything.
Tonight, while setting out a longer
trap line I shot a horned lark and
two butcher birds.
The temperature this morning was
25° F.
