Took one Lutamias meriamii (in rocks);
3 prunyscus boylii (one in rock bottom,
+ 2 in fire); bait taken from one
steel trap.
I shot me Lutamias meriamii
in the fir belt, and two Lutamias
quadrivittatus in the fir belt. I
shot me pygmy nut hatch, one
did breasted nut hatch and one
slender-billed nut hatch. Also I
shot two Townsend solitaires. Ray
shot, among other things, a jack
snipe and a male Williamson
sapsucker.
I took a bird census this
morning; including only the birds
seen in the narrow west canyon
where my traps are.
