14E - 1933 70 French Gulch (Meadows), Piute Mts., Oct. 24, 1933. the willows, a record. He also shot a mourning dove, a grosbeak, and a spotted towhee. I shot a sharp shinned hawk from the top of a digger pine, a junco, and a green tailed towhee. I heard the call of the towhee first, and though I hadn't seen the bird I knew the call though, so I set and waited in the bottom of the willows, I waited about 20 minutes, then saw him, too close for a good shot, so I backed up as far as I could and shot. The bird is pretty well ruined. I doubt if Ray can save it. I found good tracks up the west canyon this morning; I see coyote and bobcat. I'm going to run a line of traps up there tonight. I'm not going to write too many notes now (its morning), I've got too much to do. 267 Microtus ♂ wt: 60 162-50-24-16 268 Microtus ♀ wt: 60 180-60-23-15 269 Sylvilagus bachmani ♂ wt: 499 315-48-75-63 270 Sciurus griseus ♀ wt: 687 570-290-73-36 271 Peromyscus (crinitus?) ♂ wt: 25 200-103-22-19 272 Peromyscus (crinitus?) ♀ wt: 27 200-112-21-19 273 Thomomys bottae ♂ wt: 83 197-60-26-6
