Nov. 19 - None Heard lately - Wake
hole seen at Southern tip of wake
March 24 - havin't heard any yet
April 1 - reports moving fly some of
personnel haven't heard them myself
April 2 - Many burrows on wake - in
most sand at upper edge of meadow
along lagoon especially those near
tip meadow (but not at it) very many
burrows middle of Wake 3/4 mile East
of Peacock point. a pair dug out of a
hole in scrubium meadow 1 ft down
1 1/2 ft in - one bird almost white
underneath did not fly away when
down thrown all grey and did - both about
17 inch wing 16 inch length - lighter one
slightly smaller
April 3 Pull one pulled out of hole 300 yds
south of coral gables practically white
underneath feathers of back edged with
light grey (almost white) flew when thrown
rapid beats, untready at first
April 14 - Heard first mewing notes this eve
From quarters - 10:00 PM - 11:30 PM - very
little change in pitch drop down at
end volume increases gradually - drops off
with pitch
July 11 - One pulled out of hole in
garden back of Hospital prepared.
Aug 15 - Colony @ 250 yards S.S.E. of
hotel one pulled out of hole sculpured
