Distinguished from Noddies by being smaller & different note (in comparison Hawaiian Tern) Noddy Note sharp grating backle (note of sex warning of mating birds) Noddies do not give this. Nest (based on two specimens) much smaller than Noddy [illegible] Hawaiian T. excrement over sides (same material as Noddy - Tournesortia Leaves Twig & berry fruiting clusters. Young bird in late [all down except head] 50v. plumage under down stage, much different in details white eye ring only a lower rear sector and a spot at one o'clock portion of upper half ---white top of head snow white blending with the dark grey at occiput --while [illegible]
