Golden Plover
June 4 - Peel, dozen seen, one in perfect breeding plumage, rest mottled or buff
Aug 23 - Peel from above date fewer and fewer birds seen with breeding plumage, none after July, the birds seemed to come in in groups, stay 3 or 4 days or a week and then the majority of them leave. There are always golden plovers around however and some have definite beats when they can always be found. will be found stay for over a month. At dusk flocks ~~seen~~ flying from 10 to 20 birds but there have always seemed to be local flights. The new birds seem to appear consequent to the tail end of a storm. A young bird shot on August 12, ~~other~~ Specimen #92, other immatures around them.
