lyons 1939 Flightless Rail June 9 1939 8:40 Peal - Flock of 60, by Court at chicken feed storage shed. One had light sandy colored primaries, stuck out 3/4 inch beyond secondaries, fairly conspicuous - Sp has much personality Very serious business like little birds June 13 1939 4:30 Peal - In clearing by transmitter east of hotel, an adult & a young bird, end of down stage, adult left young, which moved straight away from my approach & into cover (bush). The adult circled around, sto cocking only slightly, to 30 ft from where left young adult over chick me June 25 9:00 Peal - a just hatched chick in the chicken yard, wobbled, black down, no adult in sight on retained - custom & butt were set on the net on which the bird remained.
