Brown Booby
April 2 - Frigates seemed to let brown boobies alone.
Aug 18 - recently have seen many gliding up windward face of peal toward wake, usually in groups 3 to 9 of them mixed with red footed mostly an hour before sundown till dark, most in dusk. P how late they fly. Not bothered by frigates, seem to be faster flyers than red footed. On Aug 18, photographed young on North leg of Wake, some down except for wings and some in the grey juvenile plumage. Most in or near shade but a few in open coarse coal chunks chunks 1/2" wide. Only about 100 young at colony site about 30 adults!
