Quick, definite, jerked movements, head bobbed very definitely & mechanically Sept 12 Wake AM-PM, 25 birds from Wilber-Wake Channel to Southern tip of wake + 5 birds from S tip to Wake Peel channel, as many as 12 in on flock, mixed with Tattler. each species seemed to regard the number of the opposite other species the same as members of its own species. Nov 10 Peal - feed on Bermuda grass lawn regularly. saw first female, 2, no white or upper parts, [illegible] the brown was lighter & more uniform in color (as if some yellow ochre added) Nov-19 - Wake, not as many birds seen on west shore of Wake (65% about) as many seen on South east shore. Head on view showing flat bottom - dorso-ventral compressed effect much wider than deep March 15 Compound - couple feeding on dry lawn April 2 - see Tattler for April 2 June 4 - Peal, one on sand flat between Sand spit & Wake Channel Aug 23 within the past month a few
