Torrey Lyons 1939 Pg b. Wandering Tattler skulking Sept 12, Wake, 10:30 to 8:30 - in tide pool abt 10 ft from him, legs were a yellow green color. Flocked together indiscriminately with Turnstones Nov. 19, Wake - not quite as many along west shore of wake - some along shore of lagoon near southern end. 7 Birds quite noisy, the plaintive, tattling whistle was repeated from 3 to 5 times in rapid succession. At 30 feet one legs seemed an orang yellow color March 24 - Same as ever since Feb 9 except seem a little less slate gray and more brown (April 2 - one tight flock of 6 seen on Ocean side of wake 1/2 between peacock & heel point [about six others seen very few appear on compound now] [error - refers to Turnstones]) April 2 - only 3 seen on trip to Wake Aug. 23 Occasional birds seen (but the impression is that there have less in the last few months - probably false) one prepared June 29. # 81
