Not yet very intelligent, still don't squawk April 21, Peal saw a nest on ground. Probably reason not seen last yr is that rails get the egg eventually June 4 Peal, from B rear of hotel to Wake channel, few young with feathers more eggs than young. one nest on ground June 24, Peal, one put up #80 Aug 23, Peal, nearly all eggs hatched. flock of 50 setting on sand bar South of sandspit, no nests, except one or two in Phoenic pemphis at base of sand spitt where they nested last season. chickent population is on Between DF site and garbage dump (Northern part of peale)
