Itinerary
July 16
Marshall, Klickitat Co., Wash.
The catch was:
Peromyscus maniculatus 107/2
Rattus norvegicus 107
All were caught among low underbrush
and scattering yellow pine.
The morning of the 16th after picking
up my traps I again hunted deer
for about 2 hrs. One was jumped
in heavy brush and although I
did not see it I heard it jumping
through the brush and found its
fresh bed. Tracks of Ypscupine,
Bobcat, and Fox were seen higher
on the ridge above camp while
hunting. Birds seen in this
region include:
Hermit thrush limit, flicker,
robin, nighthawk, and chipping
sparrow.
We left for the camp at Marshall
about 7:30 A.M. but discovered the
car had a leaking gas tank which
it was necessary to repair in
goldendale. On the way I shot
a young 4 Citellus lateralis at
7 mi. N.E. Goldendale, Klickitat Co., Wash.
