Itinerary
July 7 Brooks Mdw, Hood River Co, Oregon
of the forest in the early evening.
Several were seen flying all
quite high among the tree tops.
Three sets of large spring traps
were also made in the afternoon
of July 6. They were made in
heavy timber about 4 mi. north
of camp on a low ridge. 2 - No. 3
double spring, 2- No. 2 double spring, and.
2-No. 2 Oniedu jump traps were
used, & dog urine was used as
scent. In the evening of July 6,
10 mouse traps were set along
a small stream in the Mdw.
Becon fat was used as bait.
The catch from these 10 traps
was:
Zapus sp? 1?
Peromyscus maniculatus 1?
A snowshoe rabbit was seen
crossing a road in heavy timber near
camp on the evening of July 6.
Deer tracks, apparently blacktail
(Columbianus) are frequently seen
along the roads near camp.
A few coyote tracks were also seen.
