Perognathus parvus 2σ 3♀
All were caught in sandy soil among
sagebrush or under junipers. Traps
set in the rocks were not productive
June 30 Crooked R. at Bear Cr.
June 29 was spent around camp
preparing specimens. In the afternoon,
1 Sciurus was caught in the sagebrush
near camp. Numerous birds were seen:
Turkey vulture, yellow warbler, king fisher,
rough-winged swallow, red-tailed hawk,
orion, tree swallow, and cliff swallow. In
the late afternoon 65 traps were set,
some along the lower slopes and up
a gully among rocks and rather thick
junipers. Specimens caught were:
Perognathus parvus 2σ 3♀
Dipodomys ordii 1σ
Peromyscus truei 1σ
The Perognathus were caught
mostly among the sagebrush, but one
was caught under a juniper. The Dipodomys
was rather high up in the gully
