Longhurst 1939 Itinerary Nov. 12 Huichica Cr. evening. 19 Thomomys bottae was caught 107 Loxium borealis was also shot along the Cr. in the evening. Nov. 17 Huichica Cr. Dr. S. B. Benson and I spent intend to collect some birds on the marshes this weekend. He plans to come up on the 19th. Nov. 19 Huichica Cr. Benson arrived on the 19th and we collected 4 Tadarida Mexicana under the eves of an old stone winery. There appeared to be about 15-20 individuals in this colony. When observed again that night at 8:00 P.M. they had all left. On the morning of the 19th we # left for the marshes along the lower part of the Napa River about 5:00 A.M. During the day we collected several birds: green winged teal, dunlin sandpiper, coot. We also observed 3 white tailed herte mallards, snintail, avocet dowitcher least sandpiper, black-bellied plover marbled godwit, clepper rail and great blue heron and black-crowned night heron.
