The catch at the ranch was: Thomomys bottae 2♀ Scapanus latimanus 1♂ The mole was caught in a gopher trap set at the edge of the orchard in a mole run. The knoll in the marshes has numerous signs of Microtus workings and also many Rabbit trails among the grass and Baccharis. I pick up the skull of a rabbit - apparently that of a Sylvilagus. It had apparently gotten in the trap by accident and not because of the garden bait. The trap was set almost directly upon a rabbit trail!
