Mnastela cicognanii
Aug/16 Baker Cr., 11,100 ft., White Pine Co., Nevada
One ? weasel was taken at this locality. It was caught in a mouse trap baited with oat meal and set at the edge of the Cr. where it flowed through a small marshy mdu. The banks of the Cr. were lined with moss and Carex sp?
The weasel was still alive when found it, being only caught by one foot. When I approached it uttered a series of high pitched rather trilling squeals and offered to bite with great vigor.
Its E mammary glands were not developed and it gave no appearance of having nursed young recently.
