Myotis sp.
Aug. 12 Baker Cr., 8000 ft. White Pando, Nevada
Only 1 or bat of this kind was shot here, but
several others were seen flying.
Two others were hit but they
dropped in thick brush and
could not be found. They were
first seen flying fairly early
in the evening among the
aspen trees bordering the Cr.
A little later some were noted
circling out over the sagebrush
and junipers. A few larger
bats were also seen flying
with them. In flight they are
not exceptionally rapid, but they
did considerable darting among
the trees after insects, always
staying 10-30 ft. above the ground.
