Itinerary
Aug. 22 Alcorn Ranch, Fallon Nevada
ended the chase and we
dispatched it in short order.
After skinning out the
antelope we drove on to
Tonopah and had dinner
and then on to Fallon
reaching there about 1:30 A.M.
Today has been spent in
packing specimens and
fleshing out the antelope
skeleton.
This evening Alcorn and
I set out some mouse traps
at the W. side of Soda Lake, Cuchill
Co. Nevada.
Aug. 23 Alcorn Ranch, 4000 ft., 4 mi. W Fallon, Cuchillos, Nev.
Last evening I collected a large
Pituophis catenifer in the road nearby.
I also set out 75 mouse traps
and caught:
Dipodomys merriami 20 ? g.
Microdipodops megacephalus 10 ? g.
The traps were baited with oatmeal
and set 5-10 yd. apart among
low sagebrush and greasewood at
W. end Soda Lake, 3900 ft., Cuchill Co., Nevada
