Itinerary
Aug. 22 Alcorn Ranch Fallon Nevada
foothills toward Big Cr.
From Lewis I purchased 3 Odocoileus
heminous heminous skulls with antlers which had been killed in the Granite Range near Nyala.
He also gave me 3 shed antelope
from dead he had found nearby.
In the hope of finding some antelope we drove about 3 mi. up Big Cr., but saw none. Alcorn and I fired several shots as they started to run again and he succeeded in breaking the fore-leg of one of them, thigh up near the distal end of the humerus.
We drove out across country in hot pursuit and finally after about 2 mi. of rough & driving managed to tire out the wounded one so that it stopped about 400 yd. away. Alcorn fired another shot breaking its hind leg at the knee joint. This
