The Entomias ancoenus and one Citellus columbianus were caught in spring traps and one Citellus columbianus and the Lepus washingtonii were caught in rat traps.
Birds identified about this camp include: Red crossbill, Canada jay,
hudsonian chickadee, crescent-backed
chickadee, red-breasted nuthatch, pine
siskin flammulated screech owl,
red shafted flicker, hairy woodpecker,
robin, evening grosbeak, chipping sparrow, junco,
m. albee,
ft., Umatilla Co., Ore.
July30 Yesterday we left Stay a while Spr.
and moved by way of Pendelton, Ore.
to the above location. This camp
is in typical transition yellow pine
forest with a few Douglas fir.
On the night of the 30th T. Marshall and
I went owl hunting on a ridge E of
camp. One horned owl was heard
but we were unable to call it up.
However, Marshall did call up a
flammulated screech owl which he
Collected. Later in the night I collected
