Fogelman 1939 Itinerary July 14 Paterson, 250 ft. Benton Co., Wash. Fanalor cormorant, Caspian tern, Forster's tern, gulls sp?, chuehar partridge, robin, redwing blackbird, Brewer blackbird, greater yellowlegs, burrowing owl, magpie, "red-tailed hawk," crow, raven. The Island is not over 30 ft above the level of the R. and is covered mainly with sagebrush. In some places, however, there are rather large sand dunes, especially Toward the West. Along the R. are many willows and some poplar poplars. Numerous beaver cuttings were observed. They had cut many small willows and some poplars up to 10 in in diameter. There was considerable low cactus and much bunch grass among the sagebrush, and also a few choke-cherries along the R. Many robins were eating the choke- cherries. Small Scolopax [illegible] were very abundant in the sagebrush and several were collected. July 20 Paterson 250 ft. Benton Co., Wash.
