July 16 Maryhill Kitchitat Co. Wash.
I had left my 5 spring traps set overnight at Maryhill so that when we reached there I found I had caught - 1 Rattus norvegicus and
1 Oryctes cinerea. Between Goldendale and Maryhill on the S side of the grade I saw a group of 8 or 10 almost full grown Burrowing owls clustered about the mouth of a burrow on an open grassy hillside.
On the afternoon of the 16th we broke camp at Maryhill and continued up the Columbia.
